8/16/09 Two months since a last blog entry! Wow. Who cares? Who reads this crap anyway? I'm gunna blather off here, maybe. More of my thoughts on matters: The Nobel Peace Prize Wasn't it like such a load of farcical rotted dung that Al Gore won a Nobel Peace Prize? Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I deserve one, nor did I really think much of the nominations of Stanley Tookie Williams. But still, there ARE prestigious prizes for environmental awareness that could have been given to Gore, since that's whither he worked. It sounds like some crazy 60s hippie baby boomer nonsense... to give a guy a prize for the wrong thing. Nor am I really IMPRESSED by Gore's movie that much, as he just made a movie out of other people's scientific work, which he himself didn't really do. then, the profits he used to fund a non-profit, really has just a bunch of politicos working there... not people with environmental science degrees. Or at least, last I looked. Offshoring Congress Well, you see, congress offshored us, so we should just offshore them. Saves tax dollars. We could have 535 Kenyans do their job for a fraction of the cost. Obama and The Meds So, Obama is trying to do something about Health Care. What catches my attention is that when there are 19% of Americans without Health Insurance, I would immediately arrive at the conclusion that there is money to be made there. I mean, most americans, by and large, can afford $50-100 per month for health insurance, which ought to suffice for most decently healthy people. What I think is that Americans do not seem to appreciate the product, and thus aren't purchasing. When you hear all these stories of doctors running up bills, unnecessary prescriptions, health insurance companies using hoards of lawyers to avoid paying for matters.... it's a small wonder that people are not looking to purchase this insurance. I would guess that they're just walking into a doctor's office and paying it off like you would a haircut or something instead. Reminds me of all those pre-med students at Yale; Students wanting to be doctors. The cut-throat competition was ridiculous... I used to run into them often when going to my own science classes. I mean, sure, they get good grades, sure.. they're smart... but during their whole schooling... from high school up through their residence, for more than 10 years.. is all cut-throat competition... is that REALLY whom you'd want to trust with your life, death, and organs? Don't get me wrong, I knew a few pre-med students at Yale that probably were caring people and interested in life saving measures in and of itself... but I suspect more than half of them were after the status and salary of being a doctor. Tupac and Notorious Man, if I had a nickle for every time I hear about those two. I should fake my own death and sell albums under a different name having listened to all the junk about them. There were around 1000 gang homicides in L.A. county every fucking year back in the late 80s and early 90s, and allll people can talk about is those two. I think there was something like 20,000 to 40,000 gang homicides in the US back then... like having ten 9/11s every year. But they ain't stock brokers, so it don't matter. Tupac and Notorious... whhhhhhatever. Not that I really liked or disliked either of their music, it's just strange how those two seized everyone's attention whereas countless names and corpses didn't. 6/12/09 Wanna hear a crazy dream I had? In my dream, I decided I needed to learn something about civil rights, because of the odd position I'm in. So, I looked up some civil rights meeting thing and decided to go listen. I went, and it was just some sigh sigh blah blah stuff that wasn't really useful at all.... So, I thought, I'll try again.. and went to another civil rights meeting thing... only, when I got there, I realized it was the same people saying basically the same stuff over and over again. It was an echo of my real life experience with this stuff... the good knowledge on civil rights seems to come from random people here or there giving friendly advice and opinions. I know what blacks could be curious about... what do white people REALLY say behind your back? I'll tell you.... A) White people RARELY talk about skin color or ethnicity. B) White people get more offended by white people saying the N word than anyone else. C) Do they call blacks stupid? Like, almost never. D) The usual complaint whites make about blacks? Attitude problems. Not much else. 6/4/09 First blog entry! I've come to realize that while I'm rather sure diplomacy was the element that brought down the violence since 1992, I'm really not such a master diplomat myself. I was more of a schemer, and that was my talent. I'd like to congratulate the crip/blood truces that have formed across the nation and point out that one thing I've learned is that the problems in one urban dwelling are unlike the problems in another... So I think it's good when locals to a region make their own peace accords rather than having us Los Angeleans try and make them for you, because you're intimately familiar with the difficulties in your regions. Los Angeles is plagued by traffic problems, and that leads to many, many of our trends... such as rims, music, socializing on the streets, and that kind of thing. New York, Texas, Newark, and else where have different difficulties. People still try to pwn me about politically... asking me to make a song about "putting down the guns". I realize that I could probably find 10 dudes with ease more familiar with gun laws around the nation than myself and I'm probably the wrong person for that kind of song. Most people I know have had far worse tragedies with automobiles than guns. My humor... jokes.. have probably gone further for me and they around me than my diplomacy or political abilities. "Ask me what's inside of me... what's deep inside of me!" "NO!" "Blood. And guts. And black stuff." The Simpsons blatantly ripped that one off from me. That was 100% original. The gang wars in Los Angeles did not afford some guys with the opportunity for a "pleasant existence" that was attainable. Freedom and wealth were over-rated, but a "pleasant existence" was a possibility for them that was being blocked. So, I was an enabler for just that, and not much more. Other jokes I made: "I'm the King. You can build statues of me all day long. Then you'll have jobs." (I meant king of the jungle, because of my last name). Strange the popularity of this one. (when I was kayaking) "Know how to go kayak fishing? Use a spear gun. Aim just below the helmet." I'm just gunna add joke section to it web page. |
